The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Wesley Smith and Daniel Franklin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vanhoijdonk misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Vanhoijdonk looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Vanhoijdonk goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Vanhoijdonk catches West with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Vanhoijdonk misses with a kick to the body.
West looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Vanhoijdonk is fending him off so far but West persists. Nope, Vanhoijdonk circles away and we're back to standing.

enabling West to counter with a crisp jab.
West throws out a powerful jab.
Vanhoijdonk keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Vanhoijdonk attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Vanhoijdonk bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Vanhoijdonk looks like he wanted to counter with a high kick but didn't throw it.

West blocks the body kick.
Vanhoijdonk displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as West throws out the jab.
Vanhoijdonk throws a leg kick but West checks it.
West fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Vanhoijdonk on the side of the head.

West manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Vanhoijdonk on his heels. He'll look to pass Vanhoijdonk's guard now, I'm sure.
West is in close to Vanhoijdonk's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Vanhoijdonk tries to land a sweep but no joy.
West content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
West distracts Vanhoijdonk with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
West postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Vanhoijdonk really doesn't want to stay on the ground with West. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Vanhoijdonk not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
West has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Vanhoijdonk looking to hit a scissor sweep but West is one step ahead there.

West works over Vanhoijdonk with some ground and pound from guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Vanhoijdonk can do anything to dispel that myth.
West is working Vanhoijdonk over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
West lands a couple of digs.

Vanhoijdonk is trying to control the position but West postures up.
West is working Vanhoijdonk over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
We've been hearing that West has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
West sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Vanhoijdonk's guard.
West lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
West passes to full mount!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
West loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Vanhoijdonk scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from West land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. West stands and salutes the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Billy West!
Billy West seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
