Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sol Love (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tanner Grimm (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Grimm has chosen Lose Yourself as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Tanner Grimm has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grimm throws a right and a left that both miss.
Grimm looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Grimm throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Love was covering up waiting for the punch and Grimm finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Love is looking for a triangle but Grimm pushes his legs off easily.
Love could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Love is looking to stand up but Grimm isn't so interested in that idea.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Love controls Grimm momentarily but Grimm frees himself.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Love has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Our spies down at at Home of Physical Training inform us that Grimm has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?
Love won't allow Grimm to get back to his feet.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Love dives in for a single leg takedown but Grimm sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Grimm flicks out a counter leg kick but Love steps away.

Love darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Love is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Grimm defends it well.
Love controlling the pace.

Love lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

That was a close round but I would say that Sol Love will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Love tries to score a power double leg takedown but Grimm sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Love somewhat.
Despite the aggression on Grimm's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

Grimm shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Grimm was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Love explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!

Grimm stuffs the takedown attempt from Love. Love gets slowly back to his feet.

Grimm shoots in and gets a takedown into Love's guard.

Love escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Grimm gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Love bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Grimm's guard.

Sol Love overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Love seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Grimm for as long as he can get away with.

Grimm content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Love has locked up a guillotine! Love's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Grimm is holding on here and Love must be using up a lot of energy. Grimm has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Love gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
