These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Parker Allen!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Felipe Paraventi and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A shot to the liver by Allen. Beautiful body shot.
We've been hearing reports that McDermott has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
McDermott throws a nice looking combination but Allen bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Allen has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
McDermott throws a right hand that misses
and Allen counters with a stiff right hand.
Allen throws a shot to the body.
McDermott chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Allen can pounce on him.
Allen changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Allen thows a leg kick but McDermott checks it
and McDermott connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
McDermott missing with a left hand there. Allen was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Allen is looking to score with low kicks.

McDermott closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

McDermott drops his hands momentarily and Allen takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Parker Allen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McDermott with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Allen to score with a decent uppercut.
Allen misses with an uppercut. McDermott saw that one coming.
McDermott appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.

Oh McDermott is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
McDermott just misses with a punch to the body.
McDermott seems to have got his legs back now.

enabling Allen to counter with a crisp jab.

letting McDermott counter with a right hand.

Allen moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
McDermott avoids the body shot from Allen.
Allen fakes high and swings low for a body shot but McDermott manages to avoid it.
It looked like McDermott was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Allen.
McDermott misses with a hook
and Allen counters with a straight right hand.

and McDermott counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Allen thinking.

Allen waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract McDermott .

Allen is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! McDermott had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

and McDermott takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
McDermott checks a leg kick nicely.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Allen comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

McDermott jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Allen lands with a straight right. McDermott didn't see that one coming.
McDermott keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Allen.
Allen slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether McDermott might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far.
Allen lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Allen misses with a left hand
and McDermott counters with a right hand to the body.
McDermott ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
A jab lands there for McDermott .

McDermott throws a jab when Allen was well out of range.
Allen tries a low kick but McDermott avoids it.
Allen moves into range and connects with a jab.
McDermott tries for a takedown but Allen circles away easily
and Allen connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Parker Allen is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
McDermott misses with a takedown
and Allen counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

McDermott takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Allen cracks McDermott with a good jab.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Allen connects with a body shot that sends McDermott 's belly button to the back.

McDermott was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
McDermott misses with a lunging right hand
and Allen counters with a stiff right hand.
Allen's corner calls for a 1-2. Allen obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Allen cracks McDermott with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Allen has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning McDermott to stand back up!


Jeez, PJ McDermott 's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

McDermott shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Allen but Allen pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for PJ McDermott . That's going to take a lot out of him.
Allen waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract McDermott .
Allen cracks McDermott with a hook to the temple - McDermott is on wobbly legs here! Allen swarms him with hook after hook, landing with each one! McDermott falls to the canvas face first and the referee dives in to stop the fight! Allen wins by TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:28 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Parker Allen!
