Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dedrick Sledge (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kamil Kamilak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dedrick Sledge has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dedrick Sledge!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kamil Kamilak!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Wesley Smith and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kamilak wants to clinch.
Sledge wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Sledge misses with a head kick.

Sledge moves into range and clinches up with Kamilak.

Sledge turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Sledge manages to end up in side control.
Kamilak defending against the ground and pound.
Sledge tries to score with some ground and pound. Kamilak controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Sledge in side control, throwing shots but Kamilak defends.
Sledge has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Kamilak tries to improve position but can't.

Sledge is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Kamilak is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Kamilak tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Sledge wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Sledge fails to land a wild elbow strike.

Sledge wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Kamilak, who protects the arm well.
Kamilak tries to bench press Sledge off him but Sledge keeps the position.

Sledge thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Kamilak takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.

Well, if Sledge is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Sledge wants to control but Kamilak is keeping him busy.
Kamilak wants to get back to full guard.
Kamilak is trying to stand up here but Sledge is controlling him well.

Sledge seems to be looking for submissions.

Kamilak wants to pass the guard but Sledge is keeping the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Sledge is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Kamilak defends well.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kamilak is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Sledge has hold of Kamilak's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Kamilak manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Sledge will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Kamilak is wriggling around trying to escape.
Sledge misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

BOOM! Sledge connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Dedrick Sledge overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Kamilak is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Kamilak holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Sledge tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Sledge throwing strikes here but Kamilak is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Kamilak sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Sledge is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Sledge, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
