The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Malone scores with a nice body kick.
A solid leg kick lands there for Malone.
Both fighters circling a little - Malone finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Wilson looks winded!

Malone moves into range and clinches up with Wilson.
Malone has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Wilson is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Malone decides to pull guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Malone bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Wilson's guard.

It looks like Piolet Wilson has been cut.

Malone clinches with his opponent.

Malone jumps guard and drags Wilson to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Malone has his feet on Wilson's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Wilson blocks a head kick by Malone.
Wilson is looking for the big counter here.
Malone lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.

Malone throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Malone is on top in guard.

Malone jumps guard and drags Wilson to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Malone pushes Wilson off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Malone gets a clinch.

Wilson is fighting to break Malone's control of his arms but Malone is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Malone continues to stall.
Malone has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Malone manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Malone breaks from the clinch.
Malone throws a push kick but Wilson slaps the foot to one side.
Wilson throws a counter combo.
Piolet Wilson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Malone thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Wilson if he has to take too many more of those.
Wilson has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Malone.
Wilson on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Malone connects with a high kick.

That has opened up Piolet Wilson's cut even more.

Malone moves into the clinch.
Malone drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Wilson gets the underhooks and prevents it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Malone misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Wilson tries to keep at a distance but Malone has taken the fight into the clinch.
Malone connects with a nasty looking knee right to Wilson's face.

The cut above Piolet Wilson's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Malone is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Wilson can do to turn this around?

Malone breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Malone pushes Wilson away with a front kick.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Malone.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Malone cracks Wilson with a right hand to the side of the head.
Malone thows a body kick. Wilson tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Wilson is breathing heavily.

Malone moves into the clinch successfully.

Malone pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Malone darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

Piolet Wilson's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Piolet Wilson's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

A very excited looking Frankie Malone made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
