Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Chev Chelios (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Guilherme Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chelios comes to the cage accompanied by In Waves. The crowd seem to be enjoying Alves's choice of entrance music: Guerreiro by Curumin. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chelios throws a combination that misses
and Alves counters with a nice double leg into guard.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Alves working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

Alves loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Chelios looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

Alves is looking to take a break and control but Chelios is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Chelios takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Chelios is looking to regain half guard here but Alves keeps moving and retains side control.

Alves is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Chelios has escaped the position, nice work there.

Alves misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Chelios gets back to half guard.
Alves thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Chelios's head.

Alves working over Chelios with some ground and pound. Chelios looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Alves is looking to advance position but Chelios won't allow it.
Alves slows the pace down in half guard.
Alves winds up and cracks Chelios with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Alves seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Chelios does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Chelios keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Chelios tries to kick Alves off but Alves keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Alves throwing shots but Chelios is blocking nicely.
Alves is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Alves is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Chelios sees it coming and defends easily.

Alves seems to be looking for submissions.
Alves trying to control the action but Chelios is working from the bottom.
Alves is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Alves looking for a submission but Chelios manages to get full guard, putting an end to that submission attempt.
Chelios wants to stand up but Alves is controlling him.
Chelios scrambles and gets back to his feet.

Alves fails with an attempt to clinch.

Alves tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Chelios swivels and escapes.

It looked like Chelios wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Chelios swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Alves tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

and Alves takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Alves goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Chelios throws a body kick that misses.
Alves tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Alves scores with a jab to the jaw.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Alves thumps Chelios with a low kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Guilherme Alves dominated that round.
That's time! Chelios's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Chelios throws a nice inside leg kick.
Alves takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Chelios scores with a head kick.
Alves does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Chelios throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Alves on the side of the head.
Alves staying out of range there.
Alves shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Chelios counters with a huge left! Alves is in big trouble! He's backing up but Chelios isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Alves from any more damage. A dominating finish by Chelios!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:32 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Chev Chelios!
After winning the bout, Chev Chelios thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
