Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Coleman Skinner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anderson Weidman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Coleman Skinner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Anderson Weidman!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Paul Tew and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Weidman throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

Weidman has managed to clinch.
Skinner is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Weidman to keep the fight standing.

Weidman is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Skinner can't fight it off and eventually Weidman manages to take the fight to the floor. Skinner looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Skinner keeping moving, preventing Weidman from controlling successfully.
Weidman pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Skinner is keeping the position for now.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Weidman wants to control from the top but Skinner keeps moving.

Weidman stands up from Skinner's guard - Weidman perhaps looking for a knockout.

Weidman drives through with a takedown into guard.
Weidman wants to get up but he can't break Skinner's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Skinner could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Weidman passes Skinner's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Weidman wants to free his trapped foot but Skinner is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Weidman throwing shots but Skinner is blocking nicely.
Weidman passes to side control.

Weidman decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Weidman closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Weidman lands in his opponent's guard.

Weidman working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Weidman throws a big elbow that misses.
Weidman has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Weidman wants to control from the top but Skinner keeps moving.
Skinner might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Skinner wants to stand but Weidman is controlling the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Skinner avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Skinner can't keep his opponent in guard - Weidman advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Skinner has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Weidman is on him like a limpet, forcing Skinner back against the cage.

Weidman's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Weidman moves into the clinch successfully.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Skinner drags the fight down to the ground.
Weidman wants to stand but Skinner is controlling his posture from full guard.
Weidman sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Skinner's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Anderson Weidman dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Weidman throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Anderson Weidman is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Weidman throws a right and a left that both miss.
Weidman dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Weidman drives through and clinches with Skinner against the cage.
Skinner tries to pull guard but Weidman won't allow it.

Weidman wants to sweep here but Skinner controlling him for the moment.

Weidman looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Skinner has picked Weidman up and slammed him! Weidman can't keep hold of the triangle and Skinner manages to pass to side control!
Weidman is looking for a sweep.
Weidman can't do much from the bottom here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Weidman is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Skinner is controlling him well.
Skinner tries to stand but Weidman is controlling his head.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Weidman closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Skinner quickly recovers to half guard.
Weidman is breathing heavily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Weidman is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Skinner is staying active underneath Weidman, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Anderson Weidman has got the better of the ground game so far.
Skinner makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Skinner.
Weidman slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Skinner has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Weidman can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Skinner fails with the takedown

and Weidman holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Weidman stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

Weidman turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Weidman manages to end up in side control.
Skinner is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Weidman swings around for an armbar but Skinner sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Weidman's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Anderson Weidman showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!



Weidman clinches up with Skinner and pushes him back against the cage.

Weidman has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Weidman pulls Skinner in to control the position.
Skinner is stalling in the full guard.
Weidman is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Sloppy strikes from Weidman. Those never looked like landing.
Weidman circles away from the clinch attempt.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Skinner.
Weidman tries a quick counter leg kick but Skinner is wise to it.
Weidman misses with a jab, cross combination.

Skinner sneaks out the side door and pushes Weidman away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
Weidman takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Skinner darts in looking for a takedown but Weidman gets double underhooks and turns Skinner into the cage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Weidman throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Skinner tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Weidman is in Skinner's guard.
Skinner is looking to stand back up but Weidman counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Skinner.

Weidman throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Well, if Weidman is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Weidman escapes and gets back to his feet.

Weidman is looking to take a break and control but Skinner is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Weidman decides to stand back up.

Skinner gets caught flat footed, as Weidman shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Skinner looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Weidman is defending well. Skinner quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Weidman has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Skinner celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Coleman Skinner!
