The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gatmaitan moves away from the strike by Proctor.
Proctor shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Cai Proctor seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Proctor dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Proctor misses with a straight left.
Proctor connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Gatmaitan momentarily.
Proctor misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Proctor keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Gatmaitan blocks a jab.
Gatmaitan wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Gatmaitan.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Gatmaitan has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
