Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 wins, 1 losses and 0 draws, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ivan Kuznetsov!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Igor Prikhodko and Konstantin Menshow.



The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kuznetsov throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Kuznetsov tries a low kick but Watts avoids it.
Watts ducks under a wild hook from Kuznetsov.
Watts was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.

Kuznetsov drives through with a takedown into guard.
Kuznetsov must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Watts is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Kuznetsov throws a strike but Watts rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Watts controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Watts will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

That's one minute gone in the round.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kuznetsov can do anything to dispel that myth.
Kuznetsov avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Watts controls from within his opponent's guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Kuznetsov shoots in and bounces Watts off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Watts has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Kuznetsov stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Watts has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Kuznetsov manages to get his head free but now Watts has transitioned to an armbar! Kuznetsov grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Watts! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Robin Watts!
