Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, George Wates!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 1, fighting out of London, Aziz Shavershian!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Chris Edwards and Daniel Bishop.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wates doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Shavershian counters with a one-two to the body.
Wates fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Shavershian avoids it really well and circles away.
Shavershian lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Wates tries to clinch up.
Shavershian keeps the fight on the outside.
Wates takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Shavershian has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
George Wates seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wates shoots in but Shavershian avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Shavershian throws a counter combo.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for George Wates. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wates walks forward, straight into a front kick from Shavershian.
Wates is breathing heavily.
Wates misses with an uppercut
and Shavershian counters with a series of strikes. Wates will be more careful next time no doubt.

Wates shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Shavershian moves into the clinch.

Shavershian manages to break the clinch.
Wates throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Shavershian.
Wates just misses with a punch to the body.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Shavershian! Wates is out on his feet! Shavershian rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Wates is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Wates is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
