Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, King Perry!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 21 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Saint Joan!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Seu Braga and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Joan needs to keep his hands up - Perry had a free shot at his head there.
Good standup being displayed there by Perry as he connects with a hook.
Joan gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Joan not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Perry throws a big right hand that misses.
Perry is looking to work some ground and pound but Joan has wrist control.
Perry content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Perry is in close to Joan's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Perry is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Perry controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Joan trying to keep a closed guard but Perry is proving a slippery customer.
Perry slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Perry looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Perry working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Perry is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Joan is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Perry decides to stand back up.

Perry scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Perry scores with a hook to the body. Joan takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Perry scores with a jab. Joan acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Joan gets tagged by a hook that puts him to sleep! Perry points and yells something to his unconcious foe before strutting off. Joan wakes up just in time to hear Perry thank his coaches in the post fight interview.
