The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grace takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Grace throws the kick towards the body but Spong avoids it.
Spong avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
A countering left hand to the body from Spong misses.
Spong throws a shot to the body.
Grace doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Grace looks to score with a jab to the body but Spong is just out of range.
Grace is looking to land body kicks.
Spong scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Grace looks for the body kick but Spong saw that one coming.

A nice side step and Spong releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

Grace looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

Grace leaves Spong with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Spong throws a big counter head kick but Grace avoids it with no problem.

Grace gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Spong to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Spong is pushing down on Grace's leg trying to pass to half guard. Grace is fighting to maintain full guard but Spong has managed to sneak the leg through.

Spong frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Spong wants to control the pace but Grace is squirming around nicely.

Spong tries to land a front kick but Grace steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Spong has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.
Grace stalks Spong and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Spong's face. Spong staggers backwards, shaken.

Spong is rocked!
Grace lunges in with a left hook that violently twists Spong head around and knocks him out cold! Grace hops onto the cage and yells out at the top of his lungs - Yeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaah! They're showing the replay on the big screens now; that was nasty! I hope one of the photographers got a good shot of it.
