Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Vito Emerson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jon Jones has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Vito Emerson's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jon Jones!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jones looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Jones lands with a punch from half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jones is trying to control the action in half guard but Emerson is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Emerson tries to kick Jones off but Jones keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Emerson is staying active underneath Jones, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Emerson has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Jones is on him like a limpet, forcing Emerson back against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jones is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Emerson can't fight it off and eventually Jones manages to take the fight to the floor. Emerson looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Jones throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Emerson tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Jones is in Emerson's guard.

Emerson is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Emerson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jones's guard.

Emerson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Emerson has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Jones uses from the top position.

Emerson looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Jones has picked Emerson up and slammed him! Emerson can't keep hold of the triangle and Jones manages to pass to side control!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Emerson decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Jones, up you get!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Emerson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
