Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Antonio Sobral (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Puna Wai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sobral comes to the cage accompanied by Eros Ramazzotti - Un'Emozione Per Sempre . Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Jeff Smith and Micheangelo Fripello.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wai shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Sobral as he avoids it easily.
It looked like Sobral was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Wai is trying hard to land a takedown here. Sobral sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Wai tries to clinch up.
Sobral looks to score with a jab to the body but Wai is just out of range.
Sobral lands a right hook to the body.
Wai fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Sobral to the ground. Wai is now in Sobral's guard.
Sobral working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Wai doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Wai manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Wai goes for a double leg but Sobral avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Sobral continues to drive forward.

Puna Wai seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wai shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Sobral counters with a series of strikes. Wai will be more careful next time no doubt.

Wai moves out of range of the body kick.
Sobral dives in and scores a takedown into Wai's guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Wai is trying to stick to Sobral's back but Sobral is turning into Wai. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Wai's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Sobral.

That was a close round but I would say that Antonio Sobral will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Wai tries for a takedown but Sobral circles away easily

Wai swings wildly with an uppercut but Sobral uses good head movement to avoid it.
Sobral's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Horrible takedown attempt by Wai or perhaps it was just good defense by Sobral, which made it look bad.
Sobral is looking to counter the offense by Wai and move into the clinch.

I would just about give that final round to Puna Wai.
