Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Demarcus Padilla (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Beebop Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Demarcus Padilla is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Beebop Jackson !
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Ben Zyskovitsi and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Padilla tries for a takedown but Jackson sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Jackson gets a takedown into half guard.
Jackson wants to free his trapped foot but Padilla is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Jackson slows the pace down in half guard.
Padilla knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jackson on the ground.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jackson keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Padilla's head.

Jackson is taking a breather. Padilla says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Jackson passes into side control, despite Padilla's attempt to control the position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Jackson moves into range and clinches up with Padilla.
Jackson tries to pull guard but Padilla won't allow it.
Jackson keeps control of Padilla as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
The referee calls for Jackson to work.

Jackson 's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Padilla throws a body punch but Jackson moves out of range.
Jackson is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Padilla avoids a kick to the body.
Padilla throws a counter high kick but Jackson was just alert enough to avoid it.

Padilla is trying to maintain the position but Jackson is very close to passing his half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Padilla is looking for a sweep. Jackson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Jackson shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Padilla napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Padilla wants to control but Jackson postures up.

Jackson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jackson is trying to get an arm triangle but Padilla is defending well.
Jackson connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Padilla some visible discomfort.

Jackson lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.

Jackson thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Beebop Jackson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Jackson shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Jackson was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Jackson takes a little break here. Padilla wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Jackson remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Well Jackson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
