Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between De Janeiro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Nove (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Frank Nove is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, De Janeiro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Frank Nove!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Thiago Cunha and Felipe Paraventi.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nove darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Janeiro is looking to improve his position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Nove is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Nove is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Janeiro reverses the position - he's now on top in Nove's guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Janeiro wants to control from the top but Nove keeps moving.
Nove wants to sweep but no luck.
Janeiro has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

Janeiro drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Janeiro jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Janeiro trying to control but Nove is working from the bottom.

Janeiro wants to pass the guard but Nove is keeping the position.

Janeiro postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Nove is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Janeiro, into his guard.
Nove is looking to stand up but Janeiro won't let him.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Nove shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Janeiro napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Janeiro is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Nove off and has taken his back!

Janeiro is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Nove with him. Nove is trying to defend but Janeiro has an arm under the chin now! Nove grimaces and is forced to tap out!
