The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mason rushes Goldin and presses him up against the cage.
Mason misses with some punches.
Mason working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Mason throws a knee to the head but misses.
Mason scores with a nice hook to the head.
Still in the clinch, Mason scores with a nice short uppercut.

It looks like Dima Goldin has been cut.
I was talking to Mason's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Goldin lands a hook that snaps the head of Mason backwards.
Goldin blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Mason lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Mason tries to land knees in the clinch but Goldin avoids the damage to the body.
Goldin lands an elbow that stopped Mason in his tracks for a moment.
Goldin throws a punch but it's blocked by Mason.

Goldin pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Goldin tries to close the distance and clinch but Mason swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Mason throws a hook but Goldin avoids it easily.
Goldin blocks a jab.
Goldin avoids a kick to the body.

Goldin clinches with his opponent.
Goldin is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Mason lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Mason misses with a hook from the clinch.
Goldin takes an elbow to the temple.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Goldin escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Mason throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Mason blocks a head kick by Goldin.
Mason drops Goldin with a naaaaasty hook - Goldin is in real trouble here! Mason dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!
