Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Perseen Suti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Genki Dama (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Perseen Suti had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 16 - 2, fighting out of Montreal, Perseen Suti!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 38 - 23 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Genki Dama!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Elvis Blanc and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Suti gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Suti has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Dama off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
An inside leg kick lands from Dama.
Dama shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Suti pinned against the cage. Suti gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Suti takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Dama throws a leg kick but Suti checks it.
Dama ducks under a wild hook from Suti.
Suti misses with a hook.
Suti scores with a punch to the head.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
An inside leg kick lands from Suti.

Dama throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Suti was covering up waiting for the punch and Dama finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Dama pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Suti is keeping the position for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Dama stands and throws Suti's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Suti is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Dama is putting a hurting on Suti here, landing some big shots from side control.

Dama wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Suti, who protects the arm well.

Dama thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Suti has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Dama is working away from the top position though.
Dama thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Suti's head.

Dama seems to be looking for submissions.
Dama is looking to take a break and control but Suti is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Suti is looking to improve his position.

Dama is looking for a kimura but Suti is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Dama to get the leverage.

Dama is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Dama working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Suti is trying to get back to full guard.
Dama is trying to control. Suti wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Dama is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Suti makes his way to full guard, as Dama worked for a kimura.

Suti is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

A close round but Genki Dama will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Good standup being displayed there by Suti as he connects with a hook.
A nice leg kick lands there from Suti.
Dama digs a good body shot into Suti's ribs.

Suti scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Dama manages to get to full guard.
Dama has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Montreal Elite Gym. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.

Dama throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Suti escapes and throws Dama's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Suti wants to control but Dama is keeping him busy.

Dama manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Suti is trying to control the action in half guard but Dama is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Dama has momentary wrist control but Suti slips an elbow through the middle.
Suti scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Suti with a nice head shot there.
Suti stands up over Dama, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Suti's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Suti wants to control from the top but Dama keeps moving.
Dama is trying to control the position but Suti postures up.

Dama had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Suti defends it easily.
Suti throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Dama works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Suti scoring with some ground and pound.
Suti's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Dama tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Dama has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Suti is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Dama.

Dama is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Dama wants to control but Suti postures up.
Dama takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Perseen Suti overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Suti in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Dama is trying to improve his position.

Dama sneaks back into half guard.

Dama wants to get back to full guard.
Suti will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Suti is taking a breather. Dama says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Suti is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Dama can do to turn this around?
Suti wants to control but Dama is keeping him busy.
Dama is looking for a sweep. Suti is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Dama has hold of Suti's hands but Suti slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.


Dama is rocked!

Suti seems to be looking for submissions.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Perseen Suti dominated that second round.
That's time! Suti's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Suti closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Dama! Suti dives in looking to finish! Dama is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Perseen Suti!
An out of breath and clearly excited Perseen Suti thanked Spartan Nutrition for their help and support (and free stuff they sent him).
