Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Alex Sednev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Randall Terz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Alex Sednev!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Randall Terz!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Fedor Mirinova and Aleksei Zolotukhin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Terz connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Sednev misses with a kick to the body.
Randall Terz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Sednev gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Terz wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Terz managing to block the knees to the body from Sednev.
Terz tries to circle away but Sednev has him pinned against the cage.

Sednev escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Terz trying to control the position from guard on top but Sednev is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Sednev working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Terz doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Terz manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Terz cracks Sednev with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Sednev takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Sednev shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Terz manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Sednev will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Sednev controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Terz is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Terz is trying to control the position from the bottom.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

That was a close round but I would say that Alex Sednev will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Terz throws a right hand that Sednev ducks under and follows up with a left that Sednev also avoids with ease.
Terz misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Terz goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Sednev shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Terz is trying to defend but Sednev finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Terz kicks off Sednev and gets to his feet.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Sednev dodges the punch combination from Terz.
Sednev blocks a jab.
Terz throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Terz has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Sednev steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Terz. That one must have hurt.

Sednev shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Terz is trying to escape back to his feet but Sednev uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Terz is breathing heavily.

Sednev controlling from side mount.
Alex Sednev overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Sednev lands a few punches from side control.
Sednev is chipping away with strikes.
Sednev slows the pace down.

Sednev stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Terz misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Terz gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Terz wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Sednev manages to pass to side control.

Sednev is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Sednev passes the guard and advances to mount!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Sednev looking for a guillotine from mount but Terz is having none of it.

Sednev with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Sednev really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Sednev won't let Terz get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Sednev lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

and Sednev counters with a takedown into side control.

Sednev is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Terz knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

That was a close second round but I would say that Alex Sednev will probably get the nod.

Sednev seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Terz is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Terz wants to control but Sednev is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Sednev looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Randall Terz has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Sednev takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Sednev seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Sednev has hold of Terz's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Terz manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

And that's the end of the fight!
Alex Sednev showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Sednev, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
