The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Uzl avoids a punch combination nicely.
Uzl avoids a kick to the body.
Wellman Iv uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

It looks like Louie Uzl has been cut.
Wellman Iv with a nice cross.
Uzl tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Wellman Iv paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Wellman Iv throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Uzl.
Uzl has his takedown stuffed
and Wellman Iv counters with a straight right hand.
Uzl gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Uzl shoots for a double leg takedown but Wellman Iv sprawls well. He's pushed Uzl's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Uzl drops his hands momentarily and Wellman Iv takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Wellman Iv pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Wellman Iv has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
A jab from Wellman Iv finds it's way through Uzl's defenses.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Uzl on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.

Louie Uzl's cut is getting worse.
Wellman Iv fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Uzl looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Uzl shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Wellman Iv drops Uzl with a beautiful combination! Uzl stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Wellman Iv is looking for the KO!

Uzl goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Wellman Iv has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

Wellman Iv moves into range and connects with a jab.
Oh Uzl is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Shane Wellman Iv seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Wellman Iv sends Uzl crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Wellman Iv is motioning to the referee to let Uzl up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Shane Wellman Iv decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
