Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Takem Downem!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Shirou Masuda and Yasuomi Hirokawa.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vargas connects with a body shot that sends Downem's belly button to the back.
Takem Downem seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Downem shoots in but Vargas avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Vargas scores with a body shot.

Downem has managed to clinch.
Downem is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Vargas is defending well.
Downem tries to pull guard but Vargas forces him back to his feet, against the ropes.
Ryan Vargas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Takem Downem.
Downem wants a takedown but no success here.
Downem wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Vargas has him pressed against the ropes.
Vargas blocks a punch to the side of the head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Vargas manages to break the clinch.

Downem closes the distance and pushes Vargas back into the ropes.
Downem misses with a short punch on the inside.

Vargas escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Vargas is looking to slow Downem down with leg kicks.

Downem stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Vargas.
Vargas connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

It looks like Takem Downem has been cut.
Vargas tests Downem's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Downem is rocked!
Vargas jabs Downem to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Vargas takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Downem is still on wobbly legs! Can Vargas finish him?
Vargas pounces like a tiger and cracks Downem with a vicious hook! Downem is down but not out! Vargas follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!
