The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ilmarinen closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the ropes.

De La Cruz pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
De La Cruz throws a series of strikes that have Ilmarinen backpedaling.
De La Cruz connects with a body shot.
Neftali De La Cruz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
De La Cruz throws a body shot but no joy.
De La Cruz bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.

De La Cruz closes the distance and clinches.

Ilmarinen decides to pull guard.

De La Cruz decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Ilmarinen, up you get!
Ilmarinen takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

No joy there for De La Cruz, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Ilmarinen goes for a double leg but De La Cruz avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the ropes as De La Cruz continues to drive forward.

A very excited looking Asko Ilmarinen rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
