Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Taiki Aoki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ingemar Anders (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Anders has chosen Gods Son as his entrance music. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Taiki Aoki!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 15 - 0, fighting out of London, Ingemar Anders!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Josh West and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Aoki closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Anders did well to prevent Aoki getting side control.
Anders manages to get to full guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Anders lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Aoki has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Aoki and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Aoki crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Anders - the referee stops the clock and Aoki gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Anders. Aoki manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Aoki looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

I think Anders has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

After the fight, Ingemar Anders was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
