Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Phil Harris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ronnie Cowpar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Phil Harris has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Ronnie Cowpar!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Colin Fotheringham and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cowpar rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Harris moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Harris swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Phil Harris seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Harris misses the body punch

and Cowpar holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Cowpar lands an elbow inside.


It looks like Phil Harris has been cut.
Harris misses with a punch on the inside.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Cowpar.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Harris.
Harris wants to get back to striking at distance but Cowpar won't allow it.

Cowpar's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Cowpar tries to close the distance and clinch but Harris swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Harris throws a looping overhand right but Cowpar ducks down to avoid it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Cowpar holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Cowpar pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Nice shot lands for Harris.
Harris scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Harris swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Cowpar throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Harris moves out of range as Cowpar throws a body kick.
Harris connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Cowpar on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Cowpar misses with a looping right.
Cowpar looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Harris staying out of range there.

Cowpar moves into the clinch.
Cowpar blocks an uppercut.
Cowpar blocking some punches.
Harris swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Harris throws a head punch that misses.

A head punch on the inside from Harris fails to land.
Harris wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Harris misses with a hook from the clinch.
Cowpar is trying to pull guard but Harris turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Cowpar breaks the clinch.
Cowpar throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Harris misses with an uppercut.
Cowpar tries to counter with a clinch but Harris shakes him off and moves away.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Cowpar misses with a wild combination.
Harris swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Harris misses with a wild body shot.
Despite the aggression on Cowpar's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Harris keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
A looping hook to the body misses from Harris. Cowpar does a little dance to reset his feet.
Cowpar throws a hook but Harris blocks it.
Harris swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Harris waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Cowpar.
Harris smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Cowpar slips under a jab.
Cowpar tries to counter by closing the distance.
Cowpar throws a head kick that misses.

Harris appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
Phil Harris is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Cowpar steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Harris.
Cowpar flicks out a counter leg kick but Harris steps away.
Nice defenses there by Cowpar.
Harris is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.

Cowpar can't find room to land a body shot as Harris controls the action.
Harris misses with some punches.
Cowpar will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Harris up against the cage.

Cowpar tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Harris just stands there and leans against the cage.
Cowpar misses with a knee to the head.
Cowpar has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. Harris seems to have the measure of him in the clinch so far, so let's see if Cowpar can turn it around.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Harris throws the left hand but Cowpar avoids the punch easily.
Harris throws a lazy right hand but Cowpar sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

and Cowpar counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Cowpar.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cowpar tries to free his leg and advance position but Harris is retaining full guard.
Cowpar is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Harris is trying to control the position but Cowpar postures up.

Harris is trying to hold Cowpar in close to prevent damage but Cowpar has managed to pass into half guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Harris throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Cowpar steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Harris.
Cowpar slips a straight right by Harris.
Cowpar bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Cowpar lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

and Cowpar finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
Harris throws a hook to the side of Cowpar's head but Cowpar sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Cowpar uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Harris.
Harris bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

Cowpar shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Cowpar was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Cowpar throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Cowpar in side control, just content to control the action for now.

Cowpar thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Cowpar controls the position.
Harris is trying to improve his position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Cowpar is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Phil Harris will probably get the nod.

The ground and pound from Cowpar seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Harris avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Cowpar.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Harris is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Cowpar has knee on belly and moves into mount.

Cowpar throwing strikes here but Harris is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cowpar sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Cowpar working for a submission but Harris is keeping him at bay.

Ronnie Cowpar has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Ronnie Cowpar comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Harris has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
