The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cohle waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Freitas .
Cohle throws a head kick that misses.
Freitas avoids the body shot from Cohle.

Cohle closes the distance and clinches.
Cohle stalling in the clinch.
Cohle drops down looking for an ankle pick but Freitas pulls his leg out and moves away.
Cohle moves forwards but Freitas connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Cohle misses with the body kick
and Freitas counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Rust Cohle seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Freitas wants to control but Cohle is having none of it.
Cohle tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Cohle breaks from Freitas 's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Cohle lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Freitas tries to hold on but Cohle postures up.
Cohle tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Cohle looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

The referee warns Freitas that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Cohle loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Freitas scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Cohle land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Cohle stands and salutes the crowd.
