The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Luger lands a jab.
Gutz looks to throw the jab but Luger is out of range.
Gutz misses with an uppercut.
Luger throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Luger tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Gutz rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
letting Luger counter with a right hand.
We've been informed that Gutz has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Luger. Gutz shrugs it off though.
Gutz swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Luger.
Gutz tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Luger was well out of range. Poor timing from Gutz.

Luger darts in and clinches Gutz up against the ropes.
Gutz goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Luger is trying to push Gutz away but Gutz has him pressed against the ropes, so he's going nowhere.

Luger breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Luger ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Luger looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Gutz walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Gutz throws the left hand but Luger avoids the punch easily.
Luger lands with a kick to the ribs.

Gutz shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Gutz was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Luger tries to bench press Gutz off him but Gutz keeps the position.
Luger is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Gutz is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
Luger can't escape the position.
Gutz lands a big shot there that rocks Luger but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Gutz has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Gutz blocks Luger's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
Luger avoids a strike by Gutz and manages to complete a very nice reversal in the process, to end up in Gutz's guard! Fantastic escape!

Luger paying the price for stalling here - he's pushing hard on the arm trying to free himself but it's no use! He's tapped! WOW, quick submission from Gutz - great work!
