The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, David Schapiro and Chad Campbell.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cruz throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Nelson's head.

It looks like Boy Nelson has been cut.
Cruz checks a leg kick.
Nelson tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Cruz defends well and Nelson ends up having to push Cruz into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
The fighters circling - Cruz throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Nelson throws a sloppy head kick and Cruz moves out of range easily.
Cruz fakes the leg kick and cracks Nelson in the body.
Cruz lands a slapping body shot.
Nelson is breathing heavily.
Nelson avoids the head kick by Cruz.

Nelson has closed the distance and engaged Cruz in a clinch.
Cruz gets through Nelson's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Cruz lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Nelson tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Cruz smiles and moves away.
Nelson could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Cruz has taken the fight to the clinch.

Cruz drops Nelson with a big knee straight up the middle! Nelson is covering up against the cage but manages to escape and gets back to his feet!

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Cruz lands a front kick.
Oh Nelson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Cruz throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Nelson stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Nelson seems to have got his legs back now.
Nelson blocks a head kick by Cruz.
Boy Nelson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Ouch! a nice leg kick from Cruz, right into the meat.
Cruz lands with a big right hook that stumbles Nelson - he's out on his feet here! Cruz follows up with another monster hook that separates Nelson from consciousness! Nelson falls, almost in slow motion to the canvas! Cruz stands and admires his work as the crowd go wild.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Tre Cruz!
