Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kyoraku San (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fedor Emelianenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Fedor Emelianenko!
The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, Summer Carpenter and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

San gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Emelianenko to score an easy takedown into full guard.

San has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Emelianenko throws a strike but San rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Emelianenko is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Emelianenko can do anything to dispel that myth.

Let's hope that Emelianenko has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Emelianenko is trying hard to land a takedown here. San sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Emelianenko feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

San is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Emelianenko presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

San gets caught napping as Emelianenko dives in and scores a takedown. San manages to retain guard.

San manages to escape and get back to his feet.
San displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Emelianenko.
Kyoraku San has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Fedor Emelianenko.
San tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

San tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Emelianenko swivels and escapes.
San lands a two punch combo.
San shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Emelianenko as he jumps to the side.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Emelianenko closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
San is breathing heavily.

San is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Emelianenko's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Emelianenko's back!

Emelianenko is trying to shake San off. He's managed it and has hopped back to his feet! San won't be happy about giving up the dominant position.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Kyoraku San will probably get the nod.

San wants to control but Emelianenko is keeping busy.

Emelianenko seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. San is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
