Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Champ Bombada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Oliver Stoned (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stoned has chosen Dr. Dre - The Watcher as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 40 - 36 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Champ Bombada!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 26 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Oliver Stoned!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Chad Campbell and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bombada lands a leg kick that knocks Stoned off balance momentarily.
Stoned getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Bombada connects with a looping right hand.
Stoned lands with a nice body punch.
Bombada throws a hook to the side of Stoned's head but Stoned sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Bombada throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Stoned misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Bombada.
Bombada takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
A slapping leg kick lands for Bombada.
Stoned fails with a takedown attempt.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Stoned has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Bombada slips under a jab.
Stoned throws a low kick but Bombada avoids it.
Stoned tries to work over Bombada's front leg with a kick but Bombada checks it.
Bombada thows a body kick. Stoned tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Stoned takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.


It looks like Oliver Stoned has been cut.
Bombada throws a leg kick which misses Stoned's front leg but catches the back leg as Stoned tries to avoid it.

Stoned throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Bombada blocks a jab.
Some wild striking there from Bombada.
Stoned misses with a body shot.
Stoned closes the distance and clinches up with Bombada, looking for a takedown. Stoned pushes Bombada against the cage but Bombada circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Bombada tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Stoned is able to avoid easily.
Stoned with the counter takedown but Bombada avoids it easily.
Stoned misses with a kick to the body
and Bombada counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Stoned looks to throw the jab but Bombada is out of range.
Stoned moves out of range of the body kick.
Bombada lands a head kick!
Bombada lands with a shot to the body.
Stoned shoots in looking for a takedown. Bombada tries to sprawl out of it but Stoned keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bombada manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Champ Bombada has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Oliver Stoned.

Stoned changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Stoned throws a chopping leg kick but Bombada manages to avoid taking any serious damage.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Bombada kicks off Stoned and gets to his feet.
Stoned throws a chopping leg kick but Bombada manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Stoned's corner calls for a 1-2. Stoned obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Bombada thuds a left hand into Stoned's body.
Bombada swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Bombada checks a leg kick.
Stoned lands a nice shot that snaps Bombada's head back.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Bombada looks to score with a jab to the body but Stoned is just out of range.
Bombada throws a good cross that connects.
Bombada takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Stoned pivots, looking for a leg kick but Bombada is out of range and Stoned settles back down.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Stoned is defended easily by Bombada.

Stoned turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Bombada throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Bombada walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Bombada throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Stoned connects with a body shot.
Bombada misses the shot to the body.
A low kick from Stoned is predictable there
and Bombada counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Stoned thinking.
Stoned misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Bombada.
Stoned avoids the body shot from Bombada.
Bombada scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Bombada tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Stoned was well out of range. Poor timing from Bombada.

Stoned shoots in and bounces Bombada off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bombada keeping moving, preventing Stoned from controlling successfully.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Champ Bombada will probably get the nod.

That's time! Bombada's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Stoned thuds his right hand into Bombada's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Champ Bombada seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Stoned displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Bombada throws out the jab.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Stoned fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Stoned tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Bombada takes a swing at Stoned's ribcage but misses.

A little feinted left hand from Bombada on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

Stoned thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Bombada if he has to take too many more of those.

Bombada steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Stoned. That one must have hurt.
Stoned throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Stoned avoids the body shot from Bombada.
Stoned lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Bombada throws a half hearted mid kick.
Stoned uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Bombada throws out a leg kick but Stoned moves out of range and Bombada only half commits.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

A close second round but Oliver Stoned will probably get the nod - 10:9.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Bombada throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Bombada feints and then cracks Stoned's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Stoned down.
Bombada lets loose with a powerful body kick. Stoned will feel that in the morning.

Stoned has knee on belly momentarily but Bombada bucks him off and regains half guard.

Stoned throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Bombada avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Stoned.
Stoned wants to control but Bombada is keeping him busy.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

That has opened up Oliver Stoned's cut even more.
Bombada uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Stoned has time to react.

Stoned tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Stoned on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Bombada cracks Stoned with a good jab.
A decent looking cross lands there for Stoned.

And that's the end of the fight!
Champ Bombada showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Bombada has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
