Benvenuti comes to the cage accompanied by Black Eye Peas - Let's get retarded. Kai is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Firestarter. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Benvenuti uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kai.
A looping hook to the body misses from Benvenuti. Kai does a little dance to reset his feet.
A nice leg kick lands there from Benvenuti.
Benvenuti throws a leg kick but Kai sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Kai moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Benvenuti throws a sloppy body shot
and Kai counters with a head kick. That will keep Benvenuti thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Kai tries to land a front kick but Benvenuti steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Kai throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Benvenuti stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
An inside leg kick lands from Benvenuti.
Benvenuti bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
We've been informed that Kai has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Benvenuti fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Kai feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Benvenuti's calf.

Kai ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
It seemed like Kai was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
That kick from Benvenuti tenderised Kai's leg. Kai is trying to keep his angry face on.
