Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kevin James!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James misses with a few strikes there.
Pen misses with a straight left.
James connects with a right hand. Pen shakes it off.
James connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Pen's hands.
Pen misses with a jab to the body
and James cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Pen works James's body with a nice hook.
James changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Pen tries to avoid it but James manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Pen to the ground. Pen escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Pen throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and James counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Pen is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

James fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Pen rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
enabling James to counter with a crisp jab.
Gregory Pen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pen throws the left hand but James avoids the punch easily.
James uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Pen has time to react.
James scores with a sloppy right hand. Pen should have avoided that one.

James lands a really nice looking cross but Pen seems unphased.
James looks for a takedown but Pen sprawls well.
James blocks a head kick by Pen.
Pen displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from James.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

James shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Pen's guard.
James wants to pass the guard but Pen is keeping the position.

James loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Pen scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from James land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. James stands and salutes the crowd.
