Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Matt Pacquiao!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Malik Aker!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Franklyn Lucas and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aker misses the shot to the body.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Aker has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Aker is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Aker shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Pacquiao pinned against the cage. Pacquiao gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Aker jabs Pacquiao to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Malik Aker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Aker working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Pacquiao doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Pacquiao manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Aker has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Pacquiao is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Aker.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
A lull in the action here as Pacquiao stalls from top position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Aker tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Pacquiao paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Aker feints and as Pacquiao raises his hands in defense, Aker changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Aker stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pacquiao swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Pacquiao can't keep his opponent in guard - Aker advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Aker is looking for a kimura but Pacquiao is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Aker to get the leverage.
Aker working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Aker seems to be looking for submissions.

Aker seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Pacquiao does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Aker drops back looking for a leg! Pacquiao is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Pacquiao manages to kick Aker off! Aker jumps back into Pacquiao's guard.

Pacquiao throws a nice looking combination but Aker bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

and Aker connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

and Aker counters with a left and a right that stings Pacquiao.
Aker dives in for a single leg takedown but Pacquiao sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Aker tries to close the distance and clinch up but Pacquiao swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Aker misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Pacquiao.

Aker throws an overhand right that lands on Pacquiao's shoulder, as Pacquiao tries to avoid the shot.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Pacquiao tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Aker looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Pacquiao is fending him off so far but Aker persists. Nope, Pacquiao circles away and we're back to standing.
Pacquiao lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.

and Pacquiao counters with a series of strikes. Aker will be more careful next time no doubt.

and Pacquiao counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Pacquiao takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Aker bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Pacquiao throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!

Pacquiao wriggles free and stands up.

Aker clinches up with Pacquiao and pushes him back against the cage.
Aker has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Pacquiao is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Aker pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Aker tries for a takedown but Pacquiao sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

and Pacquiao counters with a right hand to the body.

Aker closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Pacquiao did well to prevent Aker getting side control.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Aker is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Pacquiao.
Pacquiao slaps away a takedown attempt from Aker, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Aker shoots for a double leg takedown but Pacquiao sprawls well. He's pushed Aker's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Aker darts in looking for a takedown but Pacquiao gets double underhooks and turns Aker into the cage.

Aker gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Pacquiao to score an easy takedown into full guard.
