Jones comes to the cage accompanied by It's not unusual. Tom Jones could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Luca Taparzo's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed right hand from Taparzo misses the target.
Jones looks to land a left hand but Taparzo moved out of range nicely.
Taparzo misses with a straight left.
Jones misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Taparzo.
Taparzo swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Jones scores with a hook.
Jones steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Taparzo.
Jones throws an overhand right that lands on Taparzo's shoulder, as Taparzo tries to avoid the shot.
Jones has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Taparzo finds it's way round the side to connect with Jones's head.
A jab from Jones misses.
Jones pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Jones missing with a left hand there. Taparzo was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Tom Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A lazy left from Jones finds it's target.
Taparzo throws a shot from downtown. Jones moves away and avoids it.
Jones rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Taparzo counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Jones catches Taparzo napping and connects with a big right hand that sends Taparzo to the canvas!

Jones swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Taparzo blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Jones breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Taparzo seems to have recovered his senses.
Taparzo scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Taparzo dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Taparzo lands a nice shot to the body.
Jones throws a monster overhand right that drops Taparzo! Jones follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!

Tom Jones is the new light heavyweight champion!
A relieved looking Tom Jones thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
