The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Poe takes a shot to the body in his stride.

EA Poe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Whitaker now looks to counter with a shot at the body.

Poe has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Poe fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Whitaker manages to avoid it.

Whitaker let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.

Poe shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Whitaker napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Poe fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Whitaker checks it well.

Poe swings widly with a right hand
and Whitaker connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
A cross from Whitaker lands.
Poe shoots in for a takedown but Whitaker shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Whitaker swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Poe takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Oh Poe is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Whitaker looks like he wants to counter punch here.

Poe seems to have got his legs back now.
Poe seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Whitaker shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Poe is backing up but Whitaker catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Poe covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Whitaker Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!
