The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Slade motions for Belmont to come forward. Slade throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Slade misses with a body kick.
Belmont connects with a body shot.
We've been informed that Belmont has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Belmont will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Belmont checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Belmont now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Slade pushes Belmont away with a front kick.
Slade takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Slade fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Slade on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Belmont misses with a body kick.
Slade connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Slade throws a body shot but no joy.
Slade backing away here, and Belmont unleashes a leg kick that just misses.

Slade lands a left and a right that send Belmont crashing to the mat, dazed. Slade thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Slade goes for a small jab and connects. Now Slade goes in closer pressing the issue. Left hook, right straight! Belmont stumbles back but Slade runs in with a huge uppercut knocking Belmont to the ground! What a finish! You have to wonder if Belmont will ever be the same after a knockout like that.
