The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cote gets caught flat footed, as Marchionne shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Marchionne tries to stand but Cote is controlling from the bottom.
Cote is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Marchionne seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Marchionne wants to stand but Cote is controlling his posture from full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Marchionne decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Cote wants to control but Marchionne is keeping busy.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Marchionne is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Marchionne has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Marchionne pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Cote knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Marchionne on the ground.

Marchionne wants to stand but Cote is holding on to him, trying to stop him posturing up.

Marchionne has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Marchionne breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Cote tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Marchionne manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Marchionne unleashes a big counter combination but Cote bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Marchionne breaks from the clinch.

Cote might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Marchionne lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Oh Cote is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Cote could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Marchionne postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Cote covers up, he's hurt! Marchionne keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Marchionne and the ref steps in to end the fight! Marchionne can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.
