The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sorokov throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Sorokov clinches up against the cage.
Sorokov tries for a takedown. No joy.
Sorokov lands with a left to the head.
Sorokov lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Sorokov is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Briggs misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Sorokov.

Briggs is fighting off a takedown attempt but Sorokov is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Briggs to the mat. Briggs regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Briggs is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Briggs pushes Sorokov off and gets back to his feet.

Briggs manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Sorokov on his heels. He'll look to pass Sorokov's guard now, I'm sure.

Briggs throws a sloppy strike and Sorokov has hooked up an armbar on the loose arm! He's turned and extended fully! Briggs is forced to tap! Great BJJ from Sorokov!
