Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 11 - 1, fighting out of New York, Eddy Maiden!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Archie Moses!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Ren Mimura and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maiden has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Maiden there as he acknowledges the shot.
Nice defenses there by Moses.
Moses takes a jab right on the kisser.
Moses scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Moses has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Maiden throws out a loose jab but Moses uses good head movement to avoid it.
That kick from Maiden tenderised Moses's leg. Moses is trying to keep his angry face on.

Maiden lunges at Moses with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Moses's hand.

This has been an exciting period of action!

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Maiden is on top in guard.

Maiden throws the left hand but Moses avoids the punch easily.
Moses slips under a jab.
The fighters circling - Maiden throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Maiden lands with a good body shot.
Moses cracks Maiden with a right hand to the side of the head.
Moses looks for a takedown but Maiden sprawls well.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Moses throws a right hand that Maiden ducks under and follows up with a left that Maiden also avoids with ease.
Some bone on bone action there as Maiden checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Maiden dives in and grabs Moses's left leg, looking for a takedown. Moses pushes down on Maiden's head and hops out.
Maiden digs a good body shot into Moses's ribs.
Eddy Maiden is winning the standup battle so far.
Moses moves away from the strike by Maiden.
Maiden walks into a left hand.
Maiden takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Archie Moses is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Moses pivots, looking for a leg kick but Maiden is out of range and Moses settles back down.
Moses misses with a body shot.
Moses goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Archie Moses seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Moses ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Moses cracks Maiden with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Moses works over Maiden's head and body with a nice combination.


It looks like Eddy Maiden has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Maiden swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Maiden slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Moses misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
A little feinted left hand from Maiden on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Moses swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Maiden throws a lazy right hand but Moses sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Moses cracks Maiden with an open hand slap.
Moses takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Moses moves out of range of the body kick from Maiden.
Moses drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Maiden defends it well.
Maiden lands a jab.
Moses will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Eddy Maiden has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Archie Moses.

Maiden shoots in and bounces Moses off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Maiden distracts Moses with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Maiden in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Moses is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Maiden stands up over Moses, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

That was a close second round but I would say that Eddy Maiden will probably get the nod.

Eddy Maiden is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Eddy Maiden showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Maiden has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
