Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Laurence Mcfadden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Morgan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jon Morgan is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Sosuke Kotani and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mcfadden has a takedown stuffed.

Mcfadden seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Morgan for as long as he can get away with.

Mcfadden is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Morgan can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Mcfadden cracks Morgan with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mcfadden's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Mcfadden remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
