The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Halo throws a low kick but Cortes moves out of range easily.
Halo misses with a head kick.
Cortes scores with a leg kick.
Halo just misses with a punch to the body.
Cortes blocks the body kick.
Halo lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Cortes pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Halo is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Halo lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Cortes uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Halo.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cortes misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Halo tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
A looping hook to the body misses from Halo. Cortes does a little dance to reset his feet.

Michael Halo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Crunch! Halo slams his shin into Cortes's torso.
Cortes moves out of range of the body kick from Halo.
The fighters circle, before Halo throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into Cortes's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! Halo lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!
