The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roca throws out a loose jab but Franks uses good head movement to avoid it.
Roca throws a jab when Franks was well out of range.
The fighters circling - Franks throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Franks looks to throw the jab but Roca is out of range.

Declan Franks seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Roca lands a big right hand that sends Franks crashing to the mat! Roca stays standing though and waves Franks back to his feet!

Franks feints a jab promting Roca to slip. Franks then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Roca slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

A looping hook to the body misses from Roca. Franks does a little dance to reset his feet.
Franks swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Franks throws a series of punches but Roca avoids them all with ease.
Roca is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Franks.

Roca uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Franks.
Franks tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Roca is able to avoid easily.

Franks thuds his right hand into Roca's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

It looked like Roca was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Franks.
Franks throws a looping overhand right but Roca ducks down to avoid it.

Roca uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Franks.
A little feinted left hand from Roca on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

Roca tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Franks was well out of range. Poor timing from Roca.

We've been informed that Franks has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

The crowd cheers as Roca lands an impressive looking overhand right. Franks doesn't seem phased though.

The cut above Declan Franks's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Franks throws a body punch but Roca moves out of range.

Roca uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Franks has time to react.

Declan Franks's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Roca is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
