PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rhyan Arias (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Coleman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Arias kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is i just want it all. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Alex Coleman!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Coleman blocks a head kick by Arias.
Arias tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Coleman is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Coleman throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Coleman cracks the inside of Arias's front leg.
Arias throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Coleman lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.


It looks like Rhyan Arias has been cut.

Arias sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Coleman's guard.

Arias is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Coleman is just riding it out for now. Arias eventually gives up the hold.

Arias is pushing down on Coleman's leg trying to pass to half guard. Coleman is fighting to maintain full guard but Arias has managed to sneak the leg through.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Coleman avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Arias is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Coleman throws a big right hand that misses.
Arias preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alex Coleman dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Rhyan Arias's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Coleman slips a jab and a cross from Arias.
Arias sets himself, and Coleman steps forward looking for the clinch! Arias avoids it this time.
Arias shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Coleman sprawls well. Coleman wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Arias gets slowly back to his feet.

Coleman drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Arias gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Coleman breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Coleman is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Arias.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Alex Coleman seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Coleman tries to close the distance and clinch up but Arias swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Arias on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Arias's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
