The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nirvi throws a low kick but Attila moves out of range easily.

Attila bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Attila rushes Nirvi and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

We've been hearing reports that Attila has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Nirvi has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Attila changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Nirvi fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Attila throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Nirvi is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Attila with a body shot.

Attila throws out a loose jab but Nirvi uses good head movement to avoid it.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Attila stands up over Nirvi, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Attila connects with a couple of short punches.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Attila lands a nice short elbow.
Attila has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Attila lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Nirvi up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Attila from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Nirvi's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.
