Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Sergai Katanov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tonis Liete (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Liete fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Katanov looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
A looping hook to the body misses from Liete. Katanov does a little dance to reset his feet.
Katanov looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Liete misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Katanov drops down looking for a counter takedown but Liete sprawls and moves away.
Liete has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Katanov is landing a low percentage of strikes.

Liete fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Liete is looking to slow Katanov down with leg kicks.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Katanov is looking to clinch but Liete is avoiding it.
Katanov walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Liete ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Katanov moves away.
Liete fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Katanov went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

Katanov seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Liete is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Katanov rather than just go for the knockout.

Katanov tries to counter with a takedown but Liete is quick to defend against it.

Katanov takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Liete drops Katanov with a left and a right! Oh, Katanov is hurt - Liete dives into side control looking to finish!

Liete prevents Katanov from standing back up.
Katanov seems to have got his legs back now.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Liete in particular looking to stall.
Liete thows a huge punch but Katanov dodges it nicely.

Katanov is looking to control Liete's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Katanov avoid being mounted?

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Liete connects with a good right hand that stumbles Katanov. Katanov circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Katanov takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Katanov tries to counter with a takedown but Liete is quick to defend against it.
Liete fails with an attempt to clinch.
Katanov attempts a counter takedown but Liete avoids it well and moves away.
Liete stuffs the takedown attempt from Katanov. Katanov gets slowly back to his feet.
Liete throws a nice looking combination but Katanov bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Katanov throws a head kick that misses.
Liete lands a right hook to the body.
Horrible takedown attempt by Katanov or perhaps it was just good defense by Liete, which made it look bad.
Katanov takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Liete pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Katanov back to the cage. Liete follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tonis Liete dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Liete lands a nice hook to Katanov's body. Katanov takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Liete creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Liete creates some distance for himself and unleashes a massive uppercut that sends Katanov's eyes rolling into the back of his head! Katanov drops to his knees and Liete pours it on with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
