The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Popov has control of Kline's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Kline regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Popov looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Kline with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Nikon Popov showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Popov shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Popov was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Popov has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Kline is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Popov yanks on the arm and Kline is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Popov.
