The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Farniev lands a two punch combo.
Farniev tries a low kick but Lopp avoids it.
Lopp looks like he wanted to counter with a high kick but didn't throw it.

Lopp shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Lopp is stalling here. Farniev is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Lopp seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Farniev has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Lopp tries to improve position but can't.

Farniev gets to mount! Lopp was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Lopp keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Farniev lands a nice shot to the head.

Lopp bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Lopp trying to control the position from guard on top but Farniev is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Lopp throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Farniev works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Farniev looking to hit a scissor sweep but Lopp is one step ahead there.
Farniev bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Lopp's guard.

Lopp throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Farniev is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Lopp tries to land a sweep but no joy.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Lopp is on top in guard.

Lopp looking to sit in guard and control but Farniev gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Lopp not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Lopp moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Lopp is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Farniev loads up on a big left hand. Lopp felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Farniev looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Lopp can't hide his disappointment, as Farniev celebrates the victory.
