PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Douglas Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Grigorij Asubabjan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Asubabjan has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Douglas Davis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Grigorij Asubabjan!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Daniel Bishop and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Davis has Asubabjan up against the cage in a clinch.
Asubabjan tries for a takedown but Davis manages to get underhooks.

Davis escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Davis clinches up with Asubabjan and pushes him back against the cage.

Davis pulls Asubabjan into guard.
Asubabjan postures up.
Asubabjan wants to stand but Davis is controlling his posture from full guard.

Davis is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Asubabjan should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
