The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hayes darts in looking for a takedown but Owens gets double underhooks and turns Hayes into the cage.
A jab lands there for Owens.

and Owens counters with a straight right hand.
Hayes tries for a takedown but Owens sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Owens has hold of Hayes's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Hayes manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Hayes seems to have got his legs back now.
