Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Okkuke Jiizu Okunaba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Saracen Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Okkuke Jiizu Okunaba!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Saracen Smith!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Stewart Dunkirk and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith scores with a kick to the body.

Smith closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Okunaba to the mat! Okunaba manages to get full guard.

Smith thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Okunaba doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Okunaba has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Smith can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Smith cracks Okunaba with a solid left hand.
Smith trying to control the position from guard on top but Okunaba is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Smith throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Okunaba wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Smith is now in half guard.
Okunaba tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Smith has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Okunaba is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Smith moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Okunaba has worked his arm free - good work by Okunaba!
Okunaba gets back to half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Okunaba is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Smith takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Okunaba is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Smith is looking for a kimura here.
Smith works his foot free and advances to mount.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Okunaba is working to get back to half guard.
Okunaba slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Smith seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Okunaba does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Smith is thwarting Okunaba's attempts to control the position.
Okunaba keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Smith tries to pass the half guard into mount. Okunaba knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Okunaba is trying to control but can't.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Ground and pound from Smith.
Okunaba punching from the bottom.
Smith is nestled in close to Okunaba, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Smith looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Okunaba wants to improve his position but Smith is controlling well.
Smith slows the pace down in half guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Smith is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Okunaba has managed to free his arm - good work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Saracen Smith dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Okunaba shoots in but no luck this time.
Okunaba throws an off balance right hand

and Smith counters with a takedown into side control.
Okunaba is trying to work for a sweep but Smith has mounted him!
Okunaba really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Saracen Smith has got the better of the ground game so far.
Okunaba takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Smith trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Smith landing strikes, looking to finish!

Smith is in the full mount, landing strikes.


Okunaba is rocked!
Smith content just to control the position here.
Oh Okunaba is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Okunaba really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Smith controlling the pace for now.
Okunaba seems to have got his legs back now.
Smith wants to control but instead Okunaba manages to regain half guard.
Okunaba is trying to get back to full guard.
Smith thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Okunaba's head.

Okunaba is defending against the submission attempts here by Smith.
Okunaba is looking to improve his position.

Smith passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Okunaba!
Okunaba is wriggling around trying to escape.
Smith raining down hammerfists from mount.
Okunaba is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Smith lands a big shot to the head and Okunaba winces in pain. He's tapped out due to strikes!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Saracen Smith!
A relieved looking Saracen Smith thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
