Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Joe Gregory (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Vos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Joe Gregory!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jake Vos!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Ren Mimura and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vos uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Gregory.
Gregory has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Victory Gym and Spa in the buildup to the fight.
Gregory ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Vos slips a straight right by Gregory.
Gregory throws an overhand right that lands on Vos's shoulder, as Vos tries to avoid the shot.
Vos takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
A left and a right from Vos both land. Nice combination.


It looks like Joe Gregory has been cut.
Gregory feints and then cracks Vos's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Vos down.
Vos lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Gregory moves away from the strike by Vos.
Vos misses with a two punch combination.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Vos throws the left hand but Gregory avoids the punch easily.
Vos leaves Gregory with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Gregory tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Vos was well out of range. Poor timing from Gregory.
The fighters circling - Vos throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Gregory misses with a looping right.
Gregory lands a nice hook to Vos's body. Vos takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Vos throws a shot from downtown. Gregory moves away and avoids it.
Gregory takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Gregory avoids a punch combination nicely.
Gregory moves out of range of the strikes.
Gregory was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Horrible takedown attempt by Gregory or perhaps it was just good defense by Vos, which made it look bad.
Vos misses with a hook.
Gregory walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
A looping hook to the body misses from Gregory. Vos does a little dance to reset his feet.
Vos cracks Gregory with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Vos throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
No luck for Gregory with that takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joe Gregory. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Gregory shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Vos as he jumps to the side.

Gregory steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Vos.
Gregory moves forwards but Vos connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Vos throws an overhand right that lands on Gregory's shoulder, as Gregory tries to avoid the shot.
Gregory tries to move into range but Vos moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Vos throws a looping overhand right but Gregory ducks down to avoid it.
Vos pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
An attempted straight right counter from Gregory misses the target.
Gregory shoots in looking for a takedown but Vos manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Gregory's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Vos is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Gregory with a body shot.
Gregory throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Vos doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.

Gregory is working for a submission of some sort.
Vos slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Vos is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Gregory is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Gregory moves into full guard.
Vos wants to control from the top but Gregory keeps moving.
Gregory is pulling down on Vos's head. It's preventing any offense from Vos, at least for the moment.
Gregory avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Vos is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Gregory wants to sweep but no luck.
Vos tries to free his leg and advance position but Gregory is retaining full guard.

Vos rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Gregory moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Vos takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Jake Vos seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Vos connects with a crisp jab.
A looping hook to the body misses from Gregory. Vos does a little dance to reset his feet.

Gregory closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Gregory connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Vos some visible discomfort.
Vos tries to buck Gregory off but Gregory is having none of it.
Gregory slows the pace down.
Gregory works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Joe Gregory overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Vos is looking to reverse the position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Vos wants to control but Gregory passes into side.

Gregory goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Vos rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Gregory's guard! Nice work there by Vos!

Vos sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Vos lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Gregory looks to score with a jab to the body but Vos is just out of range.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Vos! But no joy.

Gregory fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Vos to the ground. Gregory is now in Vos's guard.
Gregory controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gregory accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Gregory's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Gregory has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Vos looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Vos has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Gregory can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Vos bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Gregory's guard.

Gregory pulls Vos in close to his closed guard and prevents Vos from doing any damage or advancing position.
Vos seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Gregory pulls Vos in to control the position.

Gregory is looking for a triangle but Vos pushes his legs off easily.
Vos stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gregory swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Vos postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Gregory is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Gregory seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Vos might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

I would just about give that final round to Jake Vos.
I think Vos has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
